Deploying AI Agents in the Cloud - AWS

Excercise steps

Recently, together with a colleague, I had the opportunity to lead an internal course for a group of colleagues on creating AI agents in the cloud, specifically using Amazon Bedrock. The goal was to provide an overview of what AI agents are and how to use them effectively on AWS.

We started with a general introduction to AI agents, explaining how these tools are transforming the way we can automate and optimize various processes. Then, we focused on Amazon Bedrock, exploring the key features we would be using in the hands-on exercises, such as agents, action groups, and knowledge bases.

During the course, each participant had the chance to create their own AI agent, starting from building the necessary components and progressing to managing the agent, both through the AWS console and using APIs with Python scripts. Each step was carefully guided to ensure everyone understood the details.

The course was a success: all participants successfully created their own AI agents, thanks to access to an AWS account and hands-on guidance. Now, each participant is equipped with the skills to replicate the process in their future projects.

For those interested in revisiting the course materials, the course slides and the exercise sheet used during the hands-on sessions are available.
